Since 1984, the Food Bank has been on the front lines helping to feed seniors on fixed incomes, families with children, the sick and disabled, and those suffering from hard times in today's economy.
Last year, the Food Bank distributed more than half a million pounds of food and helped Hays County families an average of 3241 times a month. The number of people requesting food increased 29% from 2007 to 2008.
Did you know that Texas has the highest rate of food insecurity in the nation for children under the age of 18?
