Cypress Falls swimming hole has been a destination for locals and visitors for as long as some
Wimberley residents can remember. This particular spot is the home of Wimberley's signature Eagle
Rock, a name still used to identify the swimming hole, and also the name sake of the 18 hole golf
course in the village of Woodcreek. Long time locals will tell of dances and parties held at the old
Eagle Rock, and others recall the lodge nearby that once operated in rustic grandeur. Although the
name has changed, the swimming hole remains a hallmark of Wimberley and the beautiful Cypress
Creek.
If you work up an appetite while enjoying Cypress Falls, simply walk over to the Cypress Falls
Cafe, overlooking the water. You can choose to dine in the shade or to walk up to the top deck where you
can get a wonderful view the Cypress lined Woodcreek bridge that is featured on several Wimberley
post cards. While on the top deck make sure to observe Eagle Rock, a naturally carved rock formation
and its neighbor, a solitary limestone boulder that seems to wade in the creek. This cluster of limestone
creates a secluded area against the bluffs and the falls.
There are so many ways to enjoy Cypress Falls on Cypress Creek, but the cool emerald water
and the soothing sounds of the falls will keep you coming back.
