The Wimberly Valley Art League was started over sixteen years ago by a small group of hill country artists with common goals. It is now comprised of 190+ members. The objectives of the nonprofit organization are to promote an interest in and recognition of visual and fuctional art, encourage support and appreciation of art, promote learning for its members, and assist in the development of community-wide interest in art. The latter is manifested through bi-monthly juried shows in the new Gallery at the Wimberley Community Center, art workshops, two Art Walks (Spring and Fall), art in public places, a Studio Tour in September and the Holiday Show and Sale each November. Monthly meetings are held September through May on the second Monday evening from 6:30 to 9 PM at the Wimberley Community Center, showcasing various artist demonstrators.
