On the inclusive/exclusive nature of the searches, the "description" field will accept partial search terms, but the "business name" field will not. This only seems to be a problem when using the whole membership directory, rather than the individual categories. I think what we want is for every field on the site to accept partial search inputs.
1. The Visitor’s Center has no means of support except for donations from the Chamber of Commerce.
2. The taxable sales receipts for the first half of 2007 for local B & B’s is approximately $1,880,430.
3. The Visitor’s Center is the “front door” of Wimberley as an informed Friendly Neighbor to everyone passing through our beautiful village.
4. The local population does NOT pay the HOT tax, visitors to the Village would pay it. The visitors currently come to our village and use the facilities and enjoy our hospitality and currently are not helping to pay for them, with a HOT tax they would be contributing to payment for same.
5. Revenue from the HOT tax can only be used to promote advertising, tourism, conventions, the hotel industry and the arts.
6. Wimberley IS a tourist town. The competition for tourism dollars is growing, but Wimberley is losing the race with other communities who are aggressively courting Texas travelers and shoppers. This is due to the fact that Wimberley is the only local community who does not collect the HOT tax.
