Wimberley Community Chorus

For about 35 years the Chorus has been delighting large audiences with classical, popular, and patriotic music. There is no membership fee and concerts are presented at no admission charge. The chorus has three concert seasons each year, performances in the spring, the Fourth of July, and in the fall.

Members sing for the love of it and look on their efforts as a service to the community. A great part of their motivation is sharing the joy of music with their audiences. If you are interested in attending a concert or joining the chorus, please check out our website at www.wimberleycommunitychorus.org or contact Dixie Camp, Chorus President, at dixie_camp@yahoo.com or call or text 512-517-3111.

The Chorus was formed in early spring of 1980 and incorporated as a non-profit organization one year later. The primary purposes of the group are: to encourage and promote the study of music by those persons who are committed to the objectives of the organization; to share musical talent with the community and each other; and to encourage the study of music in all it facets.

The Wimberley Community Chorus meets on Monday nights at various churches in Wimberley. We usually rehearse for 3 months for each concert. Membership is open on the first Monday after Labor Day and again on the first Monday after New Years Day each year. In addition membership is open the first Monday in June in preparation for our Patriotic Hometown 4th of July Concert in collaboration with the Hill Country Community Band. The Chorus has between 60 and 70 singers for each concert season, including members of all ages as well as high school and college students.

Financial support comes from the community through an ongoing Patronage Program, the categories of which are: Contributor ($15 - $24), Sponsor ($25 - $49), Patron ($50 - $99), Major Contributor ($100 - $200), Sustaining Member ($201 - $499). Benefactors are persons giving more than $500.
